Mechanism of Action

GE2270 targets protein synthesis by inhibiting bacterial elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu) which prevents the transfer of aminoacyl-tRNAs to bacterial ribosomes.

Spectrum

GE2270 is active against malaria parasites, some human cancer cells, and Gram-positive bacteria including MRSA.
